Overview

Art of Protest have developed a Street Art Academy, creative learning workshops and talent development programme aimed at anyone 7+. This operates on a strength based 5 C’s model promoting curiosity, creativity, confidence, collaboration, and capability. AOP have evidence base at engaging young people who are SEND, low attendance, low attainment and displaying anti-social behaviour. AOP specialise in supporting NEET, job sectors skills needs and opportunities to enter the creative industries. In 2025, AOP was recognised as an Alternative Provision by City of York Council. Our Street Art Academy can be bespoke based on addressing particular themes and local needs. AOP have been commissioned and partner with public, VCS and private sector including North Yorkshire Police, City of York Council, Joseph Rowntree Foundation and CVS. AOP also specialise in placemaking and creative engagement which promotes civic pride and transforms communities.

AOP are a Yorkshire based team that are commission throughout the UK. We have delivered to over 10,000 participants and 80+ educational and youth providers in the past years. Recent projects have included co-production of an adult Community Wellbeing Hub, 4 week early intervention project at an Academy and 18 month placemaking projects commissioned by the Combined Authority to create Vibrant and Sustainable High Street Fund.
