Overview

Momentic is accepting referrals for the Trailblazer self-employment support programme — fully funded by York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority through Better Connect, at no cost to participants, running until 31 March 2027.
Who we support:
Rise2Thrive Trailblazer: Economically inactive people in York & North Yorkshire, aged 16–64, not currently employed or self-employed
Trailblazer Community Grants: Economically inactive veterans, carers, and migrants/refugees in North Yorkshire who are open to exploring self-employment — no business idea required
What’s included: 8–12 weeks of tailored, one-to-one business advisor support (online or in person), expert-led webinars on practical business topics, and regular check-ins after the programme ends. Support is designed to build confidence, resilience, and a clear sense of direction — no business plan needed, just an open mind.
Participants in the Community Grants strand can progress into the main Rise2Thrive Trailblazer programme upon completion.
