Overview

Better Connect is a Yorkshire-based not-for-profit organisation with a big mission to create a Yorkshire where every person can thrive in life and work.

Since 2007, we have worked with funders, employers, public services, training providers and VCSE organisations to design and deliver place-based employability and skills programmes across Yorkshire, with a view to helping people find and sustain good work.

Across York and North Yorkshire, we currently deliver Rise2Thrive Trailblazer, a partnership of 34 training providers and VCSE organisations that support people facing barriers to work through joined-up employment, skills and wellbeing provision.

We also deliver STEP UP, a skills-based partnership programme, co-lead the LEAP Wage Subsidy Scheme with North Yorkshire Council, and support local delivery of the UK Government’s Connect to Work initiative in York.
